Third, don't bother with ENB, but use a simple ReShade to apply a sine contrast curve (Curves) and level out the blacks and whites (Levels, setting 5 and 250, respectively). Second, the simplest way to make FO4 scarier is to darken it using Darker Nights (setting 2 "Dark") - and use True Storms with the Ghoul Packs tweaked on. Stay away from ELFX it's well made but extremely hard on performance. I can't find it right now but there's a mod that makes the Ghouls sound a bit deeper and less "burp"-y, which helps make them creepier.ĭefinitely recommend an indoor lighting mod like this one. We'll need F4SE to get a proper sort of ringing sound rather than just glueing that sound on an explosion itself. The author also has a mod for realistic sounding explosions- just make sure you get the optional file to disable the ear ringing effect. Get this with other sound mods, huge difference indoors. I'd also recommend pip pad with it but that's subjective. Pipboy flashlight for spookier lighting. PILGRIM is great for overall atmosphere, not used it myself but it has good reviews afaik.
